محراب miḥrāb A (from حرب) s. f. 1. The prin- cipal place in a mosque where the priest prays before the people with his face turned towards Mecca. 2. The royal closet or chamber. 3. (In dakh.) Shelf, niche: see طاق t̤āḳ. محراب تيغ miḥrāb-i-teg̠ẖ, The curve or arch of a sci- mitar (as, the محراب is always arched).

منقطع munḳat̤iﻌ A (part. act. VII. of قطع Aram. ) adj. Broken or cut off, terminated, finish- ed, extinct, exterminated, disjoined. منقطع کرنا munḳat̤iﻌ karnā, v. a. To break off, to stop (at any thing). منقطع هونا munḳat̤iﻌ honā, v. n. To be cut off, to be finished, or settled, or termi- nated; to fail, terminate.

معابد maʼāﻌbid A s. plur. (of عبد and معبد) Ser- vants (of God), places of worship.

مربهکها mar-bhukkhā S̱. adj. Starved to death, greedy, voracious, ravenous.

موازي muʼāzī A (part. act. III. of أزي) adj. Parallel, being exactly opposite to and resem- bling one another.

منمتهہ मन्मथ manmath S (मत् The heart, and r. मथ Agitate) s. m. A name of کام ديو kām- dew, q. v. the god of love.

مشام mashām A (from شمّ Heb. and Aram. ) s. m. The smell, the sense of smelling.

موضع mauẓaﻌ A (noun of place from وضع Heb. and Chald. ) s. m. 1. A place, village, dis- trict. 2. Occurrence, conjuncture.

مجامع majāmiﻌ A s. plur. (of مجمع from جمع Chald. ) Congregations.
