واله wālih A (from وله Heb. ) adj. Distracted, mad with love, stupified, astonished.

وقر waḳr A (Heb. and Aram. ) s. m. Dignity, honour, character. adj. Mild, modest, sedate.

وزرا wuzarā A s. plur. of وزير wazīr, q. v.

وبا wabā A s. f. The plague or any pestilential disorder, pestilence.

وارث wāris̤ A (part. act. of ورث Heb. Lat. hæres) s. m. An heir, master, lord, owner. وارث هونا wāris̤ honā, To inherit. A. P. وارثي wāris̤-ī, s. f. Heritage.

ولايتي wilāyat-ī A. adj. European, foreign. ولايتي خط wilāyat-ī ḵẖat̤t̤, A kind of Persian nastaﻌ- līḳ character.

واچهڙي wāchhiṛe H s. m. plur. Praising, ap- plauding; bravo! well done! aha!

وارنا wārnā H v. a. 1. To surround, to encircle, to go round. 2. To offer (in sacrifice, &c.). واري پهيري هونا wārī pherī honā, To go round any body (as a sign of being an offering or sa- crifice for his welfare), to devote oneʼs self for any one. (A practice chiefly of women).

وصال wiṣāl A (from وصل) s. m. 1. Meeting, in- terview, connexion. 2. Death. 3. Society, confederacy. 4. Fruition, enjoyment.
