ياس yās A s. f. 1. Despair. 2. Fear, terrour.

يہان yahāṅ S̱. (इह or from يہہ This, and स्थान Place) adv. Here, hither; at the abode, near, with. يہان تک yahāṅ tak, or يہان تلک yahāṅ talak, or (dakh.) يہان تگ yahāṅ tag, To this pitch, to this degree, thus far, hitherto. يہان سي yahāṅ se, Hence. يہان کا يہين yahāṅ kā yahīn, In the very same place, exactly here.

يايا yāyā A A call (used in calling birds of chase).

يگانيت yagān-īyat P. s. f. 1. Solitariness. 2. Kindred.

يوم yaum A (Heb. from ومه Heb. To be hot the day) s. m. A day. (Plur. ايام). يوم الحساب yaumu-l-ḥisāb, Day of judgment. يوم الحشر yaumu-l-ḥashr, Day of the resurrection.

يسار yasār P s. m. An unlucky person.
